ANGA COM 2023: DZS Shines as a Market Leader in German FTTX Industry

Two weeks ago, I joined my German team at ANGA COM 2023, the leading exhibition and conference for broadband, television, and online services in Germany. The event proved to be a resounding success for DZS, with remarkable achievements and recognition that solidify our position as a disruptor and innovator in the German FTTX industry.

Record-Breaking Attendance and Impressive Showcasing

With over 22,000 participants, ANGA COM 2023 experienced an incredible 20% increase compared to the previous year, indicating the growing interest and demand for cutting-edge broadband technologies. DZS’s booth, strategically located in Hall 8 alongside two prominent Chinese broadband access vendors, garnered attention with its eye-catching magenta and blue branding and sleek “smart home” design.

At the booth, we showcased our range of innovative solutions, including Velocity (XGS-PON to 50G/100G PON Optical Line Terminals), Chronos (metro optical transport), Cloud Software (network orchestration, service assurance, and WiFi experience management), and Helix (WiFi 6 APs and Optical Network Terminals). These solutions left a lasting impression on customers, prospects, partners and industry experts, highlighting DZS’s commitment to delivering category-defining and state-of-the-art platforms and technology.

Fruitful Meetings and Industry Recognition

Throughout ANGA COM 2023, the DZS team engaged in productive conversations with tier 1 service providers, altnets, fiber overbuilders, utilities/co-ops, and municipalities, showcasing the company’s industry-leading solutions. Our DZS Velocity V6 and CloudCheck software were particularly well-received, attracting interest from service providers who are eager to collaborate and reduce their dependencies on legacy broadband technology suppliers.

A notable moment was Chief Product Officer Miguel Alonso’s participation in the highly anticipated panel discussion titled “Future of Cable and Telco Fiber Access…What Technologies to PONder?” Miguel showcased DZS’s pioneering, software-driven, multi-vendor, and standards-driven fiber broadband access and transport solutions and explained why our competitors are struggling to keep up. His polished presentation and visionary messages earned recognition and admiration from industry peers and the ANGA COM attendees joining the Day 2 afternoon session.

Elevating DZS Brand and Expanding Opportunities

Without a doubt, DZS’s participation in ANGA COM 2023 played a crucial role in elevating the company’s reputation and brand in the German market. Many DZS and former Milegate customers and new prospects acknowledged the impressive portfolio and technology transformation we executed over the past twenty-four months. Combined with our presence at BREKO in November 2022, we are successfully positioning DZS as the premier innovator and disruptor in the German FTTX market.

With a significant investment of 50 billion Euros by the public and private sector dedicated to deploying 30 million FTTX connections over the next decade, the fiber boom in Germany has never been more exhilarating.
