Today’s broadband market is both hyper-competitive and brimming with opportunity. Telecom service providers, regardless of size, have to be agile and committed to efficiently and cost-effectively delivering the next-generation communications services consumers and businesses are demanding. They also have to be assured that they can seamlessly operate a multi-vendor environment that provides them access to the latest and most innovative technologies from proven and from trusted suppliers. That is one of the main reasons Europe’s largest Fiber-to-the-Home provider, Orange, has announced its partnership with DZS.

Why Orange Chose DZS?

Orange logo.We are extremely proud to have recently announced the successful completion of a pilot program with Orange in which Europe’s FTTH leader will now leverage the DZS flagship Velocity portfolio to bring next-generation fiber technology to its residential and business customers. The completion of the pilot program will lead to widescale deployment of our market-leading Velocity solutions and deliver hyper-fast broadband – including 10-gig technologies and beyond – to their rapidly growing customer base.

According to Orange Vice President of Wireline Networks and Infrastructure, Gilles Bourdon,  “DZS was given the opportunity to become part of our ecosystem, and we are working closely with them to meet our expectations from today’s 2.5 Gigabit Passive Optical network (GPON), 10G (XGS-PON) and point-to-point technologies; in a context of heterogenous situations coming from the diversity of countries where we operate.”

Delivering Next-Generation Performance

Our Velocity Optical Line Terminals (OLTs) are environmentally hardened across the entire portfolio and offer extensive flexibility ranging from 1 rack unit (RU) fixed form factor access systems to 2, 6, 14 and 16-slot chassis systems. Complemented by our innovative system-on-a-card technology that is common for all systems, DZS Velocity empowers service providers like Orange multiple options to address current and emerging deployment and service demands in their network by leveraging world-class next-generation PON and point-to-point solutions via any service port across the range of DZS systems, including stackable options.

DZS has established a reputation as a trusted partner to many of the world’s largest service providers, and with the addition of Orange, we can say that we are now deployed in not only Europe FTTH leader, but more than 60% of the world’s top 50 telecom providers globally. We are steadfastly committed to continually introducing innovative access, transport, and AI-driven software solutions that are purpose-built to power and support the most demanding communications networks in the world. In addition to our proven ability to deliver secure next-generation technology, one of the main reasons Orange selected our Velocity solutions is because of our ease of deployment and interoperability. All of our solutions are standards-aligned and designed to operate in multi-vendor environments.

DZS Highlights at Network X

The news of our successful Orange deployment is perfectly timed for the upcoming Network X event in Paris, taking place October 24 – 26. In addition to highlighting our Velocity portfolio, we will also be showcasing other solutions from our access edge, subscriber edge, optical edge, and AI-driven cloud-based portfolio.

At the Broadband Forum BASe workshops at Network X, DZS executives will be sharing their vision and perspectives in multiple panel discussions. DZS Chief Customer Officer AEMEA Gunter Reiss, will present at Workshop 1 “State of Access Technologies and Evolution to Multi-Service Broadband“, on Tuesday, October 24 at the 12:45 pm. Additionally, SVP of Access Edge, Keith Nauman, will present at Workshop 3 “What’s Driving the New ‘Middle Mile’ Investment – Use Cases and Technology Trends“, on Wednesday, October 25 at 15:15 pm in the Broadband World Forum Pavilion. If you are at the conference, I encourage you attend both of these informative sessions.

As operators across Europe and around the world continue to invest in FTTH technology, we are experiencing strong momentum and increased interest and traction in DZS solutions.
